Monty Python's "The Knights of the Coconut" has long been part of general education and not just a nerdy topic. However, some jokes are particularly popular in nerd circles. This includes the famous scene in which the Knights of the Round Table...er...Coconut Round Table try to cross the Bridge of Death.

Guarded bridges seem to have a special significance in this movie anyway. One of them, for example, is guarded by the particularly heroic Black Knight. Although he is an opponent to be taken seriously, he is easy for a skilled fighter like Arthur to defeat. The hulking creature in front of the Bridge of Death is a different matter. If you don't answer all three questions correctly, you are immediately transported to the deadly abyss. Due to slight nervousness, you might even get the question about your favorite color wrong.

The What is your name doormat is therefore the perfect way to weed out unwanted visitors right at your door. If you don't know the cult movie, you can turn right back. Everyone else can try to answer the three questions on the mat correctly. Hopefully you are a little smarter than the bridge keeper in the movie and know that it is a European swallow. It normally travels at a speed of around 32.4 km/h. However, answers of up to 74 km/h can also be considered correct, as individual swallows have actually been measured at this speed. Whether you allow other answers and if so, which ones, is up to you. ;)

The fact that the doormat is made of coconut fibers is not (just) a funny allusion to the knights' non-existent horses. Just like Arthur, coconut fiber is particularly hard-wearing and always keeps its shape even under heavy loads. This mat is therefore suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Unfortunately, it is only available in coconut brown and not in blue.
