Description C-Jump Board Game

  • Ski and snowboard race board game that teaches players the fundamentals of programming.
This board game is probably not the number one choice for adult programmers of this world, but it is something the children might get a lot out of. And it's also great for students needing to learn how to program in computer classes. C-jump is even used in Tech Camps, the number one computer camp for kids and teens.
As a player, you become a ski and snowboard racer on the board. Your goal is to reach the finish line. On your way through the snow, you repeatedly encounter loops, branches and other statements that are used in programming.
A field saying "x +2" means you have to add 2 to what your dice says.
The following statements await you:
** increments x++
** decrements x--
** if
** else
** while
** goto
** switch
** break
** continue
** return
In contrast to real software, the particular statements only count if you land on them. This change is made so kids will have more fun and don't have to interpret every statement, which could be rather tedious. Or, if you have the courage, you can play it your own way :).
